24-Month Limited Warranty

TLDR: There's a lot of legal jargon you're probably not gonna read below. Basically, we try our best to build a quality product but if it fails you in some way, please let us know, and we'll do our best to make it right.

Also, if you submerge your vehicle in water while forging a river (as Jeep owners are known to do occasionally, ahem, Jason...) we're not gonna cover that. Sorry, not sorry.

Light Your Top (“the Company”) provides a 24-month limited warranty (“Warranty”) for the LYT Shade (“Product”) purchased by the original consumer purchaser (“Customer”) for use on their vehicle. This Warranty covers both electrical and fabric components of the Product, subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. Warranty Coverage

This Warranty covers defects in material or workmanship under normal use and conditions for a period of 24 months from the original date of purchase (“Warranty Period”). During the Warranty Period, the Company will, at its discretion, repair or replace any defective parts of the Product, including both electrical components (e.g., wiring, casings, or controllers) and fabric components (e.g., the roof shade fabric, stitching, and structural integrity of the shade itself), or provide a full or partial refund to the Customer if the Product is found to be defective in accordance with this Warranty.

2. What is Covered

This Warranty covers:

  • Electrical Components: Defects in the wiring, casing, controllers, or other electrical parts of the Product that affect its functionality and operation under normal use.
  • Fabric Components: Defects in the fabric of the roof shade, including issues such as material tears, poor stitching, fading (within reasonable limits), or failure of the fabric to perform its intended function due to manufacturing defects.
  • Structural Components: Any failure of the frame or mounting hardware that affects the installation or operation of the Product, provided the failure is due to a defect in material or workmanship.

3. What is Not Covered

This Warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from:

  • Acts of God: Natural events beyond human control, including but not limited to storms, hail, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, fires, or other extreme weather conditions.
  • Aggressive or Abusive Use: Use of the Product in ways other than as intended, including but not limited to:
  • Excessive tension or force applied to the shade.
  • Use in off-road conditions that could subject the Product to damage beyond its intended design (ie roll-overs, underwater submersion, etc)
  • Failure to follow proper installation, use, or maintenance instructions.
  • Improper Installation: Damage caused by improper installation, including installation by unauthorized dealers or non-professional installers.
  • Normal Wear and Tear: Damage that occurs over time from regular use, such as fading, wear, or minor scratches, is not covered.
  • Third-Party Modifications: Any modifications or repairs made to the Product by unauthorized third parties.

4. How to Make a Claim

To make a claim under this Warranty, the Customer must:

  • Contact the Company at support@lightyourtop.com within the Warranty Period.
  • Provide proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, or order confirmation).
  • Describe the defect or issue with the Product, including clear photographs of the electrical and/or fabric components that are affected, if applicable.

5. Exclusion of Other Warranties

This Warranty is the only warranty provided by the Company. The Company disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, except as expressly stated in this Warranty.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Company’s liability under this Warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective Product or a refund of the purchase price, at the Company’s discretion. The Company will not be liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of use, damage to property, or personal injury.

7. Governing Law

This Warranty shall be governed by the laws of the state of Texas without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any legal action under this Warranty must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Texas.
